EASY TIPS ON WHAT TO WEAR FOR FALL PICTURES
1. Have a color theme
Having 2-3 colors to center everyone’s look around is a great way to have everyone in your photo look cohesive. Too few colors and you run the risk of boring and bland. Too many and you run the risk of your eye not knowing where to look and the photo feeling “messy”.
Don’t think that choosing a couple of main colors means you can only wear those head to toe. Neutrals are a free pass and help to balance out the look!
2. CHOOSE PASTELS, COOL COLORS, AND NEUTRAL TONES
A few popular color combinations to wear for fall family photos are:
Plum, navy and mustard
Navy, gray an yellow
Brown, cream and burnt orange
Wine, tan and cream
Navy, Tan and rust
Gray, burnt red and mustard
2. COORDINATE, DON’T MATCH
Be mindful of keeping your tones similar, but don’t try to match outfits (unless that’s very much your thing – more power to you!).
3. Style
Make sure to keep the overall look one STYLE such as dress casual. You don’t want to have one person wearing super casual clothing while the rest of the family is wearing church attire. Plan your clothing well before the session date and ask your photographer what he/she thinks of the things you picked out!
4.Say no to logos and large graphics
Logos and Graphics can be very distracting in a image. They draw attention away from the subject and toward the clothing. This is the last thing that we want to do.
5.ACCESSORIES
Don’t forget to think about your accessories. Hats, scarves, statement necklaces and earrings are a perfect way to take your outfit to the nest level. They make an outfit look polished, pulled together and complete. And they are a perfect way to add a pop of color.
4. WEAR CLOTHES THAT MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE YOU
Most importantly: Be comfortable and have fun with it! You will have a much better time which will make for better photos.
